The Venue
The Fitting Room is a Second Life destination designed from the ground up with one purpose: giving you a private, secure space to work on your avatar. Whether you're a seasoned resident refining a look or someone just beginning to explore what Second Life has to offer, The Fitting Room was built for you.
Each of our 16 well-appointed private suites includes a complimentary, easy to use photo studio, a pose deck, automated room control and security, comfortable seating and a help center featuring live Concierge support.
This isn't just a changing room. It's a space to pause, experiment, and step back into the world feeling exactly right.
Our Mission
Second Life is at its best when it makes space for exploration — when it lets you try on a different version of yourself without judgment, without rush. The Fitting Room was built to protect that experience.
We believe that how you present yourself in a virtual world matters. It shapes how you feel, how you connect, and how you experience everything around you. Our mission is to give every guest the time, the privacy, and the tools to get that right — whatever "right" means for them.

The Creator
The Fitting Room was imagined, built, and is maintained by one person — a Second Life resident with a background in design and Information Technology, and a deep appreciation for spaces that feel intentional.
I have been a resident since October of 2006, and have always had a strong affinity for public spaces
in Second Life, particularly those with a clear, obvious purpose. I created The Fitting Room back in November
of 2024 after noticing the same person almost on a daily basis making her way into a hidden area of one of my builds
on Mainland to try on clothing. I spent a couple hours searching and exploring the grid for public changing rooms,
and found surprisingly few of them. The spaces I discovered did not really give a vibe of comfort and privacy that I
expected.
So I set out to build The Fitting Room. It began as 4 small rooms on a mainland parcel in November 2024. In
spring of 2025 we upgraded to a homestead region with 8 rooms, and finally to a full region and 16 rooms.
My goal for The Fitting Room is to provide a public space where guests feel welcome, comfortable and secure. When you step
into a suite at The Fitting Room, you should feel like you own the space while you're there, and effectively, you do.
The Team
The Fitting Room runs on the generosity of a small, dedicated group of volunteers. They keep watch, welcome guests, and help make sure every visit goes smoothly. We're grateful for each one of them.
Kira has been with The Fitting Room for over a year now, and serves as our lead Concierge. She is a Second Life Mentor who has helped many new residents find their footing in-world. Friendly, patient and approachable, Kira genuinely loves helping people - whether it's a quick question or a more indepth interaction over voice.
Nael has been a Second Life resident for over 17 years and serves as an Official Second Life Mentor. Involved in other high profile projects in Second Life, Nael brings a wealth of in-world experience to The Fitting Room — along with an eye for the creative and the unconventional. You're in good hands.
Tanja, also a Second Life Mentor, has called Second Life home for over 16 years. A shapeshifter by nature and a storyteller at heart, she approaches every interaction with intention and care. When she's not here, you'll find her tending to The Sapphic Fur Nook, her own in-world community space. She brings warmth, depth, and a genuine love of the platform to everything she does.
